I am delighted to confirm THE RETURN OF GOLF TO KINROSS

You will all have noted the First Minister’s announcement on Thursday of the route-map to easing the lockdown restrictions in Scotland. This was followed by an announcement from Scottish Golf, that golf can resume in Scotland with effect from the 29th May, provided there is no decision to reverse the easing of lockdown by the Scottish Government.

As you will no doubt expect the return to golf comes with some substantial restrictions. For the immediate future, the courses will be open for CASUAL PLAY only. The committee will continue to monitor the guidance from the Scottish Government and Scottish Golf, and re-introduce competition golf when it is deemed safe to do so. Our Hon Secretary, John Fraser and Committee Member Andy Jackson have prepared a number of fixture list options which are ready and waiting to be implemented as soon as we are permitted to reintroduce competition golf.

It is absolutely essential that all members read and understand the Joint Policy Statement that has been agreed by the club, and Kinross Estate Company. This document is based on Scottish Golf guidance and sets out the restrictions that we will operate under. It also sets out the expectations on social distancing and other guidance/requirements that members should adhere to when coming to play. I know that I can rely on our members to conduct themselves responsibly in line with this guidance.

The decision made by the Scottish Government does not allow us to re-open the clubhouse. As a result toilet and handwashing facilities will not be available initially. Again, we will continue to monitor government guidance and will re-open the clubhouse only when it is safe to do so, and when government guidance allows. Members who have golf equipment in their lockers will be permitted to access the locker room to remove their equipment, thus allowing them to play golf. You will not be permitted to return your equipment to your locker until the clubhouse re-opens. If you wish to access your locker please email manager@kinrossgoflclub.co.uk who will advise of the arrangements for collection of your equipment in advance of the courses re-opening.

Tee times must be booked in advance, online using BRS during these restrictions. This includes tee times in the evening after the Pro-shop has closed. This is critical to ensure we comply with Scottish Government’s contact and trace guidance. Course marshals will be present in the evening to validate that all members playing have booked tee times via BRS. BRS can be accessed via the Club V1 Members Hub App, the Club Website, or via the following link BRS TEE BOOKING . The BRS system will go live on Monday 25th May to allow members to book tee times. Initially, bookings can be made up to 7 days in advance (including weekends) for either of the 2 courses. Any members who do not have access to BRS are asked to contact Greig in the Pro-shop who will ensure that access to the BRS system is arranged thus enabling tee times to be booked. Please do not book tee times unless you fully intend to play at that time. If your plans change, please ensure you remove your booking so other members can book slots that become available. The attached guidance also includes important information on group sizes, and other tee time restrictions.

I am sure, like me, you are all desperate to get back out playing golf, and I would like to thank you all for your support for the club, and for the patience you have shown during this unprecedented lockdown period.

I look forward to seeing you all on the courses from next weekend.

Regards

Simon Dunn
Captain
Kinross Golf Club

In light of the government “stay at home” directive to combat the COVID-19 virus and the advice from Scottish Golf, the courses are currently closed. We hope this is a short term temporary situation and we will all be able to get out and play this game we all enjoy in a few weeks time.
